Phase One of Desalination
**Phase One (Seawater Intake):**
Seawater intake occurs 1,200 meters from the intake structure and at a depth of 10 meters using suction chambers. These chambers prevent larger marine organisms from entering as they suck in water, serving as a primary filter.
At the seabed, there are seven suction chambers from which water is transferred to the intake through seven polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 2.5 meters by gravity.
Chlorination is performed once at the beginning of the pipeline and once in the middle of the line along the route to the intake.
The installation of 2.5-meter diameter marine pipes in ten lines, totaling 16 kilometers in length, has been carried out on the seabed.
