Phase Six (Transfer and Discharge of Brine to the Wastewater Discharge Structure and Sea):
The brine water returned from the desalination units is transferred through separate pipes to the wastewater discharge structure. This discharge structure (Weir Box) has the capacity to discharge 3,200,000 cubic meters of water per day. It is partially buried and transfers the wastewater, compliant with environmental standards, to a depth of 10 meters, 2,300 meters into the sea via three pipes with a diameter of 2.5 meters. The waste water is evenly dispersed at depth by diffusers installed at the end of each of the three discharge pipes.
